Armação
Tons of tiny little frogs, I thought they were little grasshoppers at first.

Armação

Floripan country side on the way to the city center.

Economy Housing just south of Florianópolis Center

Florianópolis Media control center

The original bridge to Floripa

Right near the entrance to Floripa in Santa Catarina, near the town of São José,
you'll find this monstrous absurdity.

The statue, which in Brazil, stands more for oppresion than liberty,
bears over the helpless Brazilians, with the sinister cell tower behind.

Morro do Brito
Waldir Sachs, his newborn son, and the three cats that live in his cabin.
They were hungry, no one had been there for a week.

Waldir's Cabin area.

Brazilian Bumblebee

Slug

This was a rather large spider, about the size of a mouse.

Avocado Tree

Brazilian Grasshopper.

Brazilian Wasp

Brazilian Katydid

This looks like Red Salvia

I have no idea what this is. Probably a flower, or a bunch of seeds.

Rio Cubatão

Thiago near the waterfall pool, along the Rio Cubatão,
not to be confused with the world's most polluted river, which is located in São Paulo.

Close up of some Moss

Strange primative plants.

A little vine taking advantage of the tree.

Vines squeezing two branches together. Or are they just hugging?

Beautiful flowers everywhere.

Some stange mushrooms growing out of the logs.

Looks like knives with bloody tips.

Apple tree near the entrance to the trail up Rio Cubatão

Brazilian insect love.

Base of a Fern plant.

Then this crazy guy playing the Cavaquinho comes walking up the road...
My friend Elias from Chili.

In search of Amanitas, looks like he may not really need them.

These flowers are edible, and are filled with vitamin C.

Some fungus growing on Waldir's wine.

The cats look a little different here.

More fungus.

Dinner

Thiago, Waldir's son Thainã, newborn Tom, Waldir, his wife Lu, and Elias.
Waldir was cooking something the whole time, using fresh organic fruits, vegetables and grains.
The food was very good. Especially the bread that he made.
